Orange Pothos 07.19.10 by hallv5 Orange Pothos 07.19.10 by hallv5
"Orange Pothos 07.19.10"

Pothos - one of my favorite vine plants... It comes in a variety of colors and leaf patterns and is among the easiest little plants to keep growing... And, if you're lucky enough to live where frosts aren't very common if can be grown outside... If you train it to climb up a tree you'll end up with super-sized leaves with a super tropical look...

Very pretty Vern.
You're right, it's a nice plant. It wouldn't grow outside here though.

Thanks... And, yes, they wouldn't do well outside in your climate... They do OK here and some of the older ones that've managed to climb up a big old oak tree are amazing... =D

Yes, Ivy can be beautiful, but can also be a real pain in the uh-huh... Especially if you have it where it climbs up the side of a home... Can be really destructive...

It seems to get everywhere on the ground in the dark corners, then it climbs up and smothers bushes and trees. We haven't any on the house.
We used to have a lot of another plant that has suckers. Ampelopsis. I don't remember the English name. It goes red in the autumn.
At one time it went right round the house and one year my husband pulled it off to be able to paint the walls. In France you have a plain surface over the housing materials and you paint it white or a very pale colour.
It was funny. He got all the thin branches off but all the tiny suckers stayed. Like the stubble of a beard. He had to paint over it. A tradesman who came by for another job, had a good laughed and suggested he patented the style.
